family promise of gallatin valley

During CtK's 2021 "hosting" weeks our volunteers are being asked to do "hosting" a bit differently.

Once again it's time to rally our amazing Family Promise volunteers for this coming summer.  Between the pandemic and the crazy Bozeman economy and housing issues, homelessness is more prevalent than ever.  Family Promise has been doing a valiant job of trying to temporarily house and help families in the valley.  The organization is still here and stronger than ever.  A new building is going up right now that will help them do even more for our community.

As for CtK and our wonderful partner, Mosaic Chapel, we have once again committed to providing meals for 4 weeks throughout the summer. The dates are June 13th - 26th and July 11th - 24th.  Just like last year, we will not be housing families in our facility, but bringing meals to the rectory (5 West Olive) beside St. James Episcopal Church in downtown Bozeman.  The dinners should be there between 6:00 and 6:30. You may choose to stay throughout the dinner and/or evening but it is not required.

Sign ups for the first two weeks of our commitment can be found by clicking the link found on the HOME page under Family Promise.  The other two weeks will be set up when the dates are closer.  You will see the evenings that Mosaic Chapel has committed to serving but there remain many other opportunities.  Please take the time to look at it and consider what you can do to help.

CtK Sponsors 6th annual

run for your life (virtual race)

CtK sponsored the 2020 Run For Your Life, raising funds for the Help Center and suicide prevention.
While the run was officially "virtual" this year, we COMBINED Run For Your Life and a costume parade (with a 5k and a 1k course mapped out) and invited the CtK team to walk/run together on Saturday, October 31st.

Here's how it worked:

  • Those registered for the 5k gathered (with appropriate distancing between households) at CtK at 10:30am to run/walk the course. Costumes encouraged!
  • The 1k kids' run/walk began at 12:00pm, at CtK, and the home stretch was in the CtK parking lot where "Super, Silly, Spooky (Parking) Spaces" were decorated with treats to hand out. This event took the place of Trunk or Treat this year. Masks and social distancing included, of course!

CtK had a great turnout at Run For Your Life last year (see photo, and that wasn't even everyone!) - in the middle of a blizzard! It's going to be great - register today!
